Grupo HD, leader in the distribution sector in the Canary Islands, and promoter of large-scale projects, both in Hotels and Shopping Centres, announced the successful completion of its ambitious project, the largest hotel in Lanzarote accompanied by a shopping promenade.
The hotel will be operated by the international hotel chain Barceló, which has relied on this product developed by HD, as a reference for its brand in Lanzarote. The name of the hotel will be "Barceló Playa Blanca".
The innovative complex, located on a 100,000 m2 plot in Playa Blanca, in the municipality of Yaiza, will open its doors to guests on 1st December, marking a significant milestone in the tourism panorama of the island of Lanzarote.
This project has been conceived with a unique approach, aiming to offer an unrivalled guest experience, setting new standards of luxury and comfort. Strategically located on the seafront, the hotel has 720 rooms and 1,400 beds, offering an impressive space that combines elegance with an exceptional panoramic view of the island of Lobos and Fuerteventura.

The hotel's differentiated range of services and facilities redefines the holiday experience on the island. Guests will be able to enjoy a wide range of amenities, from world-class dining to world-class recreational facilities, creating an exclusive environment to relax and enjoy.
The distinctive features of the project focus on the harmonious integration of shapes, colours, and textures inspired by Lanzarote's natural environment. From the moment guests cross the hotel's entrance, they are greeted by an impressive lobby that stands out for its dimensions, the imposing height of the dome and the infinite sea views, with a spectacular view of the Corralejo dunes.
The hotel's unique design also integrates a premium experience, with an adults-only area offering exclusive services. Guests can also enjoy a lobby bar, 8 restaurants, including market, Canarian, Asian, and Mexican themed restaurants, as well as a Sport Bar and three Beach Clubs, one of which is reserved exclusively for premium guests.
The complex has a main infinity pool 180 metres long, another heated infinity pool for premium clients, a convention centre with capacity for 800 people, a 2,000m2 entertainment theatre, several meeting rooms, a Wellness Centre with Spa and gym with sea views and a sports centre with multi-sports and paddle tennis courts. For the little ones, there are leisure areas, a children's pool with a pirate ship and for teenagers there is also a climbing wall and leisure rooms adapted to their needs.
All the rooms have a sea view and have been designed with a diaphanous approach, seeking that oasis of relaxation and exclusivity for guests. There are 6 types of rooms, some of which even have a private swimming pool. Every detail has been carefully considered, providing a unique accommodation experience.
The common areas of the hotel have been decorated with the characteristic vegetation of the island, with more than 80 species, as well as paying homage to the great Lanzarote artist César Manrique with the inclusion of some Jameos. The project stands out for its commitment to sustainability, adapting to the environment and incorporating geothermal technology to reduce its environmental footprint.
This hotel project is also accompanied by a shopping promenade on the seafront, located in front of the hotel, called Paseo LASAL. It will feature prestigious brands and restaurants in a unique setting, enriching the commercial offer of the area. It will open its doors on 20 January 2024.
